Description

Brett Theodos is a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute where he directs the Community Economic Development Hub. Dr. Theodos recently coauthored briefs on how the federal, state, and local governments can best support the co-op sector and how the sector can best measure its impact. His other economic and community development work includes studies of Opportunity Zones, New Markets Tax Credits, SBA loan and investment programs, the Community Development Block Grant and Section 108 programs, Choice Neighborhoods, and several impact investing, community development financial institution (CDFI), and mission finance strategies. He also leads studies of affordable homeownership and financial capability supports, and directs Measure4Change, an initiative that provides deep dive coaching and technical assistance to nonprofits in developing their capacities in performance measurement and indicator development. Dr. Theodos serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Community Progress, the Douglass Community Land Trust, and the Housing Authority of Prince George’s County.
