Alissa Orlando is the co-founder of The Drivers Cooperative, which launched Co-op Ride, a driver-owned ridehailing platform. She has scaled multiple on-demand businesses. She worked with logistics startups across Africa to mobilize over $200M in capital from international investors and support operations, such as the launch of KFC's white-label food delivery platform in South Africa. She headed operations for Uber in East Africa, overseeing growth to 250,000 weekly trips and the launch of Uganda and Tanzania. She ran a Rocket internet food delivery company in Rwanda and served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. She graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and received her MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Alissa’s views on how to restructure the gig economy have been featured in The New York Times, Buzzfeed, TechCrunch, CNBC, and other media outlets.
