Description
Tomer Simon, Ph.D., is a Futurist and Strategist. Today, Tomer is the Chief Scientist of Microsoft Israel R&D Center in the CTO Office. Tomer has over 22 years of experience in developing innovative initiatives in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. In his role as Chief Scientist at Microsoft Israel's R&D Center, Tomer leads innovative initiatives that integrate artificial intelligence and impact industries and sectors in Israel and around the world.
Previously, Tomer was the National Technology Officer in Microsoft Israel, and formerly the futurist and senior director of Academic Research and Innovation in Amdocs. Tomer brings with him about 25 years of experience in the technology and IT worlds, including technology research, software development and managing and establishing large development centers.
Tomer has deep expertise in AI and quantum computing, and in designing and leading digital transformations. Today, Tomer works with numerous executives from the defense and public & private sectors in building organizational and national level strategies, and is a member in four governmental steering committees on internet infrastructure, academy-industry relations, digital talent and on the future of education in the age of AI.
During the Covid-19 crisis Tomer was invited to be a member in the Prime Minister's Exit Strategy team, which designed and created the mechanism to allow the release and return of economic activities in Israel.
