Description
Dr. Hans-Jörn Weddige is a German engineer economist who currently heads the Climate Funds Strategy department at thyssenkrupp, a German multinational that focuses on industrial engineering and steel production. Previously he coordinated all climate and energy policies for the thyssenkrupp Group globally.
Dr. Weddige is on the advisory board of a German SME that is active in zinc recycling and is a member of the Industrial Advisory Panel in the Department for Materials at the University of Oxford. He is also Vice-Chair of the Energy and Climate Committee at the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA) and is Chair of the BIAC Environment and Energy Committee at the OECD, as well as represents the business community in one of the UNFCCC’s Technology Executive groups.
Dr. Weddige has a PhD in Ferrous Metallurgy from the German Technical University and Mining Academy and an MA in Metallurgy, Economics and Management.
