Description
Dr Cronin was appointed President of Wharf Hotels in February 2016, after serving as Vice President Sales & Marketing from 2014. Previously, she held various senior management positions in leading international hotel groups including Hyatt International and Ritz-Carlton.
Overseeing 17 hotels across the Philippines, Hong Kong (China) and the People’s Republic of China, Niccolo Hotels and Marco Polo Hotels continue to strengthen as one of the leading regional players in the hospitality industry.
Her initial remit was to launch the new luxury hotel brand, Niccolo Hotels and open the first of the luxury portfolio, Niccolo Chengdu in 2015. The brand has been internationally acclaimed and set the benchmark for openings since in Chongqing and Changsha, with Niccolo Suzhou on 1 April 2021. The unveiling of the Hong Kong (China) flagship property in 2018 in the conservation project, The Murray, a Niccolo Hotel, has gained global recognition for this iconic landmark building.
In 2019, Jennifer became Chair of the newly formed Hong Kong Heritage Tourism Brands alliance and is a member of the Tourism Recovery Industry Task Force for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, as well as a member of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau’s External Relations Committee. She has also been a member of the Global Hotel Alliance, Alliance Strategy Board since 2016.
Her commitment to professional development and supporting future hoteliers is evidenced with her appointment as Chairperson of Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Industry Advisory Committee for the School of Hotel and Tourism Management. She is also Chair of Bond University Alumni, as well as a member of the Advisory Board of Bond Business School, and their HK Alumni Committee.
Jennifer is a graduate of Griffith University’s School of Modern Asian Studies with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Japanese and economics. In addition, she also holds an MBA, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in crisis leadership.
