Description
Rod has worked with survey, administrative and big data for over 30 years and with tourism data for over 20 years. He currently manages Tourism Research Australia’s (TRA) datasets, including the International and National Visitor Surveys.
He has been involved in a large number of projects involving global distribution, mobile phone, social media and transaction data. Rod heads up TRA’s continuous improvement program. He currently works on a number of innovative data partnerships looking at utilising the usefulness of complementary data sources for use in tourism while working with other government and commercial organisations.
Currently the Vice Chair of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for tourism statistics, Rod is also a member of various committees and workgroups with a focus on improving data and data governance.
