Description
Lucy Cheke is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge. She is also the Director of the Kinds of Intelligence Programme at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, which focuses on artificial intelligence in the context of other – human and nonhuman - cognition. She has worked for many years on assessment of learning and memory in nonhuman animals, children and adults - and more recently AI agents. Much of this work has focused on the comparability and interpretability of cognitive assessments across and within groups/species, with an emphasis on pattern, rather than sum, of performance.
