JUDr. Alex Ivančo, Ph.D. is Director of the Financial Markets III Department at the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, covering retail services, consumer protection, and innovation within the financial sector. Department, besides, manages and supervises processing of the state contribution to the supplementary retirement savings and building savings. Alex also represents Czechia in the European Blockchain Partnership.
Alex has more than ten years of experience in international law, working as the Head of the International Law Unit at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and for the Czech Trade Promotion Agency in São Paulo, Brazil. He represented Czech Republic in the OECD Investment Committee and initiated discussions in UNIDROIT and UNCITRAL on global harmonization of a legal framework for artificial intelligence and smart contracts. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Law from Charles University.
