Description
My name is Maryna Rymkina and I am working as Investment Director for Impact & ESG Advisory at Horizon Capital. At Horizon Capital, I am responsible for strengthening our Advisory Team by leading the Impact Advisory and focusing on delivering impact investment solutions within the portfolio and Horizon Capital. Previously, I was Corporate Governance & ESG services lead, Head of Strategic & Reputation Risk sub-BU at Risk Advisory department at Deloitte Ukraine, and a Manager in the Sustainability group of the Risk Advisory department at Deloitte Poland.
I accumulated more than ten years of professional experience in the Ukrainian energy market, particularly in renewable and nuclear energy. My expertise spans risk management, sustainability/ESG reporting, strategy development, ratings, compliance, and corporate governance.
My commitment to sustainability was acknowledged with the TOP-100 Women “Green Heart Leader” award in Ukraine in 2023 from the Office of Sustainable Solutions and the Association of Environmental Professionals PAEW with assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine within the framework of the UN Recovery Program and peacebuilding with financial support of the European Union.
I have a Ph.D. in Economics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, with main thesis focusing on the socio-economic development of enterprises in Ukraine and ESG. I am a prolific contributor to the ESG field, having published 26 scientific papers since 2013. I was a Local Advisor for “The Core Code of Corporate Governance: Requirements and Recommendations” in Ukraine.
In the field of sustainable development, I have passed the GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, CSRD Advanced and TCFD for the Financial Sector certifications, training on the implementation of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs); in process of obtaining CFA ESG Investment. I was a Local Advisor for “The Core Code of Corporate Governance: Requirements and Recommendations” in Ukraine.
