Sydney is a Climate Policy Associate for The Nature Conservancy in California, where she works to elevate the role of nature in the state’s approach to climate change. She works with diverse, interdisciplinary teams to develop and manage projects that build on conservation and climate science to advance nature-based strategies that can help Californians mitigate and adapt to climate change. Prior to her role at The Nature Conservancy, Sydney completed a year of public service in the California Legislature, where she worked as a committee consultant and science fellow for the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Water. She holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics from Utah State University, a doctorate in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a project management certificate from Cornell University.
