Description
Cyntia Azevedo has been the Deputy Head of the International Affairs Department at Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) since July 2020. In this role, she addresses issues related to the IMF, FSB, and G20, among others. She coordinated BCB's work in the Finance Track during Brazil's G20 Presidency and represented the BCB in the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group and the G20 Task Force for a Global Mobilization Against Climate Change.
With approximately 20 years of experience at the BCB, Cyntia has previously worked in the Department of Banking Operations and Payments System and the Research Department. She holds an MPhil in Economics from Columbia University and a Doctorate in Economics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-Rio).
