Description

Kelly Maguire is the Assistant Administrator in the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Economic Research Service. Prior to joining USDA in 2018, she spent 18 years as an Economist at the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Her areas of expertise include agriculture and environmental policy, use of non-market methods to estimate the value of ecosystem services and evaluating the distributional and environmental justice impacts of federal policy. In her role as the Assistant Administrator, Dr. Maguire provides leadership and coordination across the agency’s broad program of research including climate change, resource and conservation issues, food policy analysis, and more. Dr. Maguire has a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgia State University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester.
