Description

Alejandra Cruz Ross is a national from Mexico and a lawyer by training. She joined the ILO in 2013 where the focus of her work has been on the promotion of decent work in the transport sector. In the aviation portfolio, Alejandra supported the negotiations that led to the signing of the ILO-ICAO Agreement in 2022, and she has represented the ILO at the ICAO’s Assembly, technical panels and meetings. She was also responsible for the preparatory work and outcomes of the ILO’s “Conclusions and recommendations on the promotion of decent work to shape a green, sustainable and inclusive economic recovery for the civil aviation sector” that were adopted in 2023. Part of her work has also focused on the promotion of women in the sector, including the coordination of the ILO Working Paper “Women and aviation: Quality jobs, attraction and retention” as well as the preparation of the ILO’s high-level participation and panel at the ICAO’s Second Global Aviation Gender Summit.
