Joana Chiavari, Research Director of the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI)’s Brazil Office, leads the Climate Law and Governance Program and the Climate Finance agenda, providing governments, businesses, and financial institutions with in-depth analysis and strategic guidance, convening key actors around policy proposals, identifying strategies to mobilize resources and accelerate implementation of sustainable finance and low-carbon development solutions, building consensus and contributing to the improvement of policies and institutions, with a strong focus on land use, infrastructure and clean energy.
A qualified lawyer in the fields of environmental and climate change law, Joana holds a PhD in Analysis and Governance of Sustainable Development from the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the University Sant’ Anna of Pisa.
