Description
Nicole Wilke leads the division International financing of the transformation, international market mechanisms in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Germany. From 2004 to 2021 she worked as Head of Division International Climate Policy in the Federal Ministry for Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety where she organized G7, G20 and EU presidencies as well as several Petersberg Climate Dialogues and acted as the German and EU Lead Negotiator to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She was deeply involved in the negotiation of the Paris Agreement. From 2012-2014 she served as Vice-President of the UNFCCC. Her professional career started at the Environment Ministry and the Economics Ministry in Lower Saxony where her focus lay on the regulation of liberalised electricity markets. Nicole graduated in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Hannover, Germany in 1991.
