Description
Mr. Singh is Managing Director in MUFG’s ESG Finance department in Asia Pacific. In this capacity, he engages and advises clients from all sectors and has played an active role in over 200 ESG Financing deals across the region.
Mr Singh was awarded the “Best Sustainable Finance Banker – Singapore” in Nov 2023 by Finance Asia. Under his leadership, MUFG was also awarded the “Best Sustainable Finance Advisor – APAC” award in Mar 2023 by The Asset. Mr. Singh is a certified Green and Sustainable Finance ProfessionalTM by Chartered Banker Institute UK.
As one of MUFG’s ESG finance experts, Mr. Singh represents the Bank on key initiatives such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) Singapore Sustainable Finance Association (SSFA) Blended Finance Workstream, MAS Green Finance Industry Taskforce (GFIT), specifically focusing on its taxonomy and green finance solutions workstreams. He also participates in Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) Indonesia and Vietnam, G20 workgroups on Energy Transition under Business 20 (B20) taskforce and also spoke at COP28 Dubai on a panel covering the “Role of Climate Tech”.
A seasoned banker who honed his experience with multinational institutions from J.P. Morgan to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Singh joined MUFG Bank in 2018. Prior to his current role, he was MUFG’s APAC Head of Strategy for Global Subsidiary Banking (GSB) business, responsible for setting up and executing the strategy to institutionalize GSB as one of the Bank’s core business pillars in the region. Mr. Singh also created the APAC partner bank strategy, a blueprint for identifying business synergies between MUFG and the four Asian banks in which MUFG has invested over $14bn.
Mr. Singh has a B.Eng (Hons) in Bioengineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore and an MBA from University of Oxford UK (Said Business School). He has also completed an executive course on sustainable finance and ESG investing from NYU Stern Business School, US. He is a recipient of the prestigious SIA Scholarship (Junior College), SIA-NOL Scholarship (undergraduate) and Dean’s List – Hillary term (MBA).
