Description
Isabella Neuweg is a climate policy and green finance specialist with 15 years of experience in designing and implementing policies to mobilize green investments and scale up sustainable infrastructure. Her work centers on reforming economic policies and financial frameworks to advance green finance, focusing particularly on emerging and frontier markets across Eastern European Neighbourhood countries, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. She collaborates closely with senior government officials, central banks, and multilateral organizations to foster investment environments that align with global climate goals.
With a background spanning both the public and private sectors, as well as academia, she has contributed to high-impact reforms, including environmental tax legislation and mandatory ESG disclosure standards for financial regulators. Before joining the OECD, she was a special advisor to Professor Nick Stern at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and led climate and energy policy evaluations for the UK government and the EU at ICF International. She holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
