Description
Robert Dawson is a policy analyst and economist with the Connectivity Services and Infrastructures Unit of the OECD Secretariat. He is a co-author of a forthcoming OECD report on environmental sustainability of communication networks. Robert has over a decade of experience analysing and providing recommendations on telecommunications matters for the Government of Canada at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, providing key analysis and advice on government action in telecommunications policy issues and regulatory frameworks, including for competition, digital divides and consumer empowerment.
Before joining the OECD Secretariat in 2023, he represented Canada to the Working Party on Communication Services and Infrastructures and served as a Vice-Chair. He was a member of the drafting team for the 2021 OECD Council Recommendation on Broadband Connectivity. Robert holds a master’s degree in public administration from Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration, in Ottawa, Canada.
