Description

Sebastian Hirsz is bp’s Head of Mobility Policy, leading its transport energy policies around the world including lower carbon fuels, EV charging infrastructure, and vehicle-energy system integration. As part of bp’s Strategy and Sustainability organisation, he provides policy and technical input to strategy development and represents bp at global transport organisations such as the ITF. Seb previously headed-up energy transition policy on behalf of the UK downstream sector, working closely with the UK government on renewable fuels regulation, low carbon hydrogen business models, bioenergy strategy, and the deployment of E10 gasoline. He has detailed understanding of standards development, having been responsible for the UK industry's representation to standards organisations on fuels, EV charging, and retail site safety. A chemist by training, Seb has developed formulated products for ICE and electric motor systems, from retail to Formula 1, with first-hand experience of delivering fuels from concept to market and shaping regulations to improve fuel product sustainability.
