Description

Dr. Jari Kauppila is Head of Secretary-General’s Office at the International Transport Forum at the OECD. In his role, he supports the Secretary-General’s agenda in ensuring strategic leadership and vision to the ITF’s overall work programme and on the management of the Organisation. Jari previously led ITF research work on wide range of transport policy issues and was responsible for the ITF’s flagship Transport Outlook, quantitative model development and related analysis. Jari has coordinated international research projects on topics such as shared mobility, logistics, transport reliability, decarbonisation, road safety and infrastructure investment. Prior joining the ITF in 2007, Jari spent nearly ten years with Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications. He also holds a position as Adjunct Professor in Transport Economics Turku School of Economics, Finland. Jari speaks fluent English, Swedish and French, in addition to Finnish. The International Transport Forum at the OECD is an intergovernmental organisation with 66 member countries. It acts as a think tank for transport policy and organises the Annual Summit of transport ministers. ITF is the only global body that covers all transport modes.
