Ben Durham is Chief Director: Bio-innovation at the National Department of Science, Technology and Innovation in South Africa. His responsibilities include the implementation
of the South African Bio-economy Strategy, the ultimate purpose of which is to ensure strategic socio-economic and environmental benefits from bio-innovation. Ben is on various local and international bodies – including the International Advisory Committee on Global Bioeconomy - and is leading the charge on the Bioeconomy Initiative under South Africa’s presidency of the G20 in 2025.
