Description
José Juan Haro is Attorney at Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (1997), with a LLM degree from the University of Chicago Law School (2000). On January 2020, he became Chief Wholesale & Public Affairs Officer of Telefonica Hispam America, the unit that operates Telefonica´s business units at Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. He is founder and member of the ‘Internet for All’ Board (a company dedicated to rural connectivity in Peru whose partners include Facebook, CAF and IDB Invest), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telefonica Centroamerica Inversiones (TCI).
He has previously been Chair of the GSMA Latin America Policy Group and Vice President of the Inter-American Association of Telecommunications Companies (ASIET). He joined Telefónica del Perú in 2003 where he held responsibilities in business areas, especially in the wholesale organization. In 2009 he was promoted to Vice President of Strategy and Regulation in Peru. Since 2011 he has been in charge of corporate responsibilities in Madrid.
