Description
Shinya TAHATA is currently Senior Director of Information Security at the Bureau of Digital Services in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government of Japan . From January 2023, he is also the Vice Chair of the Working Party on Security in the Digital Economy at the Committee on Digital Economy Policy of the OECD. Previously, from July 2022 to March 2024, he was Director of the Office of the Director General for Cybersecurity and in charge of international affairs regarding Cybersecurity in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan.
From 2011 to 2013, he was Deputy Director for Multilateral Economic Affairs Office, Global Strategy Bureau in the MIC and was in charge of international affairs including the OECD Committee on Information, Communications and Computer Policy (ICCP), WTO and APEC. From 2020 to 2021, he was the Director in charge of Internet Policies including those relating to international fora such as the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and ICANN, a position which he returned to assume along with his role in Cybersecurity from February 2023.
