Description

Before her appointment to senior-level positions in federal ministries, H.E. Mrs. Semegne Wube worked for the Addis Ababa City Administration, where she held various professional and leadership roles. She has served the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Her career at the senior level began in 2009, when she was appointed as State Minister for the Ministry of Justice. Following this role, she served as State Minister for the Ministry of Women, Children, and Youth, and later as State Minister for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. In 2021, she joined the Civil Service Commission at the commencement of the Civil Service Sector Reform. Since then, she and other senior leaders within the commission have been diligently working to implement the reform effectively, aiming to deliver efficient, effective and cost-effective services to citizens in the near future. Regarding her educational background, H.E. Mrs. Semegne holds an LLB degree from the Civil Service College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
