Description
Alina Jalea was appointed state adviser for climate change and energy transition at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania, in January 2023. She coordinates the works of the Interministerial Committee for Climate Change and is the main organiser and promoter of the partnerships for energy transition between the Government and the economic operators in Romania. Since her appointment, the Interministerial Committee for Climate Change has developed into several task forces, such as the Working Group for carbon capture and storage and the Working Group for reducing methane emissions in the oil and gas sector.
Alina Jalea is a career diplomat with an experience of more than 20 years in both multilateral and bilateral diplomacy. She has also worked as a seconded national expert at the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights. She has a MA degree in international relations at Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Boston, USA.
