Description

Secretary General of the Ibero-American Social Security Organization, the first Latin American woman and the youngest to hold this position, for which she was elected by the Executive Committee of this technical and specialized international organization that promotes the economic and social welfare of Ibero-American countries through coordination, exchange and use of their mutual experiences in Social Security and Social Protection in general. She has served, among others, as: Minister of Labor and Social Security of Colombia, Minister of Health in charge, General Director of the National Social Security Fund, President of the Board of Directors of the Social Security Institute, Judge of the Council of State of Colombia, Member of the National Board of Accreditation of Quality in Health, and Member of the National Board of Health Accreditation. She has advised several governments of the region in the reform processes of the health and social security systems, as well as the Andean Community of Nations, Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance in Social Policies in Ibero-America. He has promoted the adoption of national and international standards related to social protection such as the Ibero-American Social Security Code and the Ibero-American Multilateral Agreement on Social Security.
