Description
Born on October 9, 1975, in Casablanca, Afaf El Kaoun - Gabelotaud pursued her academic career at Université Paris Cité, where she earned a DEA in sociology. She then obtained a certificate of competence in labor law and social security law from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. She was first elected as a Paris councillor in 2014 in the 18th arrondissement. In 2017, she became the deputy mayor of Paris, responsible for employment policies. In 2020, she continued her role as deputy mayor, now overseeing employment, business, and economic development, a position she still holds today. Simultaneously, she has been a Greater Paris metropolitan councillor since September 2016 and has served as the delegated Greater Paris councillor in charge of housing since 2022.
