Description
Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi is the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand, who has set out to reform Thailand’s higher education landscape with comprehensive reform policies and initiatives to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in Thailand’s higher education system - in alignment with the vision of a "Life-long Learning Nation". Her ministerial initiatives include streamlining educational pathways for accelerated graduation, establishing skill transcripts and certification mechanisms aligned with professional standards, and implementing both a National Credit Bank and a Credit Bank system to facilitate
life-long learning endeavors.
Furthermore, she has focused on promoting practical research and innovation, aimed at addressing the country's key needs and solve important problems, caring for vital national issues such as sustainability, clean energy, carbon neutrality, electric vehicles (EV), artificial intelligence (AI), and creative economy. She has also initiated the "MHESI for EV" policy to enhance Thailand's EV ecosystem, with a focus on EV Human Resource Development (EV-HRD), EV Transformation, and EV Innovation.
She was also a member of Thailand’s national committee in driving important agendas such as the National Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Council (Policy Council), the National Competitiveness Enhancement Policy Committee, the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee (EV Board), the National AI Committee, and Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) Executive Committee.
