Biography
Muriel Décot is Head of Division at the Council of Europe, based in Strasbourg (France). Additionally, she is currently Executive Secretary of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), an intergovernmental body made up of representatives of the 46 member states and numerous observers, both states and justice professionals. For over 20 years, the CEPEJ has been working to promote the efficiency and quality of justice in Europe, by developing innovative tools and working methods for use by presidents of courts, heads of public prosecution offices and public decision-makers in the field of justice. With Muriel Décot having participated in its establishment, the CEPEJ has become a key partner for judicial systems in Europe and beyond. This is thanks to its practical, tailored work in a diversity of areas, including procedural timeframes, evaluation of court efficiency, cyberjustice and mediation.
