Biography
Ivan CrnĨec is currently State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation of the Republic of Croatia. Previously, he held positions including Assistant Minister in the Directorate for European Affairs, International and Judicial Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice; Director General at the Organisation of the Judiciary Directorate of the Ministry of Justice; Director General at the Criminal Law Directorate of the Ministry of Justice; and Adviser to the Minister and Head of Sector for Cooperation with the International Criminal Courts of the Ministry of Justice. He has additionally held several positions within the Municipal Prosecutor's Office in Zagreb over the course of 7 years.
Mr. CrnĨec has extensive experience working as President of the Council for the Suppression of Corruption, as the Croatian Delegate to the Coordinating Committee in the area of police and judicial cooperation in criminal matters (CATS), and as the president of numerous working groups for drafting laws. He has also worked as Team Leader and Justice Reform Expert in several EU and Council of Europe projects. Currently, he is Vice-President of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ).
