Biography
Nataly Ponce Chauca is a Peruvian attorney with over 25 years of experience in international justice reforms across 10 countries in the Americas. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Government from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and in Latin American Studies from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia (OAS International Scholarship).
Nataly has served as an evaluator for various international projects, including the US Department of State’s CPC Alliance on trafficking in persons and USAID's study on criminal justice in environmental matters in Peru. Her leadership roles include Deputy Chief of Party for the Pro-Integrity Project and Training Coordinator for the Anti-Corruption Threshold Program (USAID/ICITAP).
Previously, Nataly has held prominent government positions, such as Vice-Minister of Public Security and Vice-Minister of Women in Peru. As an international consultant, she has provided technical assistance on violence, public safety, organised crime, and complex crimes for UNDP, UNODC, IDB, and the Attorney General’s Office of Guatemala. Additionally, her previous roles include serving on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Peru, working in the Ad-hoc Commission evaluating unjustly convicted individuals, and as the Commissioner for Human Rights at the Ombudsman’s Office. She also worked as an international consultant for the OAS, evaluating the Inter-American Programme for Judicial Facilitators in Central America.
A Fellow of the US Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), she has numerous publications on criminal justice reform, public security, and gender issues, and has taught at the School of Government at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
