Biography
Laura Heidenheim (she/her) is a white settler of mixed European ancestry, born and raised in London Ontario the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Chonnonton Peoples. She currently lives in Ottawa, the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg nation. Her work has spanned from co-creating and managing projects which are rooted in anti-racism, community building and education, including the co-creation of a community-based exhibit with families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Laura is a policy analyst at Environment and Climate Change Canada, working on the team responsible for policy development related to Bill C-226, An Act Respecting the Development of a Strategy to Assess, Prevent and Address Environmental Racism and to Advance Environmental Justice.
