Description
Ambassador Anna Brandt took up her duties as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sweden to the OECD and UNESCO in September 2018. She is chairperson of the OECD’s Audit Committee and co-chair of the Ambassadors´ Group of Friends of Gender Equality Plus. An economist by training, Ms Brandt has more than three decades of experience from the Swedish foreign service and from international finance. Ms Brandt served as Ambassador to Dublin, Ireland, in 2016-2018 and as Ambassador to Nairobi, Kenya, in 2006-2009. She has also served as Executive Director and member of the Board of the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD, and the European Investment Bank, EIB. She has held several managerial positions in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs as Head of the Africa department, Deputy Head of the Asia department, Head of section in the Eastern European department and as Chief Economist. She also represented Sweden in the preparatory UN negotiations for the Sustainable Development Goals
