High-level Panel: Towards a human-centric and rights-oriented digital transformation

The diffusion of connected digital technologies in recent decades allows for new ways for people to participate in society, pursue opportunities, interact and enjoy rights and freedoms. At the same time, a number of risks and harms have emerged. As technologies and markets continue to evolve so do implications for human rights and freedoms. This high-level opening panel will discuss how to protect and promote human rights in the digital age so that technology benefits people and society. It will consider approaches to human-centric digital transformation based on rights.
