M-POWER Partner Efforts to Support the Prevention and Elimination of GBVH and to Support Collective Bargaining / Binding Agreements at Workplaces in the Textile & Apparel Sector

Organised by: Multilateral Partnership for Organizing, Worker Empowerment, and Rights (M-POWER) Trade union, labour support organizations, and government partners of M-POWER will discuss their support for workers and unions in organizing and collective bargaining campaigns in the apparel & textile (A&T) sector where the prevention and elimination of GBVH and remedying GBVH violations are motivating elements of the campaigns. This will include partner support for enforceable brand agreements (EBAs), the Lesotho agreement, and the Dindigul agreement. The panel will also discuss the ongoing efforts of M-POWER partners to advance ratifications, implementation and enforcement systems, and political and resource commitments related to ILO convention C-190 which includes leveraging and advocating for the elimination of GBVH through the CSW 2025 and post Beijing +30 platform of action.
