Preventing sexual harassment and strengthening OSH in the garment export sector in Indonesia through social dialogue

Organised by: Global Deal This side event will look at recent developments in Indonesia to better protect women in the export garment industry, reflecting on the achievements of bipartite bodies at the enterprise level and assessing how they have contributed to strengthen occupational safety and health and protect women against sexual harassment. Tripartite representatives as well as representatives from civil society will assess recent developments and shed light on remaining challenges. The case study is taken from the Global Deal 2024 Flagship Report titled Shaping Transitions to Decent Work: Social Dialogue for a Better Future, which contains a thematic chapter on occupational safety and health, providing examples of how social dialogue can improve safety and health in the workplace.
