Description
Etienne Vlok is the National Industrial Policy Officer of the Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU). Before being appointed in this position, he was the head of the trade union’s research and policy unit. His focus is the union’s Jobs Campaign, dealing extensively with industry, trade and procurement matters, and also supporting the union’s collective bargaining and membership work.
Etienne is also the Commission Chairperson of the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) and has been a representative of SACTWU and COSATU, South Africa’s largest trade union federation, on multiple national and sectoral task teams on employment, wages, economic and manufacturing issues. He is a former board member of the South African clothing and textile sector skills authority.
