Hyunjoo Jung
Biography
Hyunjoo Jung is Associate Professor of Environmental Planning at Seoul National University and Director of the Center for Asian Migration Studies and the Institute for Gender Research. With B.A. and M.A. degrees from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Minnesota, Jung has expanded her research areas to include interdisciplinary areas of migration and multicultural spaces, and gender and inclusive urban development. She has previously served as a committee member of the National Urban Planning Commission and worked on projects sponsored by the government and national institutes, including the Ministry of Land and Transport and the Ministry of Education, Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation, and Korea Land and Housing Corporation. As editor-in-chief of Space and Environment, an interdisciplinary journal of critical urban theory, planning, environmental studies, and geography, Jung has been involved in circulating cutting-edge academic discourses, particularly in Asian contexts.
