Description
Joshua Paine is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Bristol. His research and teaching focuses on international economic law (primary focus on investment law, secondary focus on trade law) and international dispute settlement. Josh has published widely in leading peer-reviewed journals (including European Journal of International Law, International & Comparative Law Quarterly and Journal of International Economic Law), and in edited books. His first monograph, The Functions of International Adjudication and International Environmental Litigation, will be published by Cambridge University Press in May 2024. Before taking up a lectureship at Bristol, Josh was a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law from 2017–2019. Josh holds a PhD in law from the University of Melbourne, an LLM in international law from the University of Cambridge, and a BA/LLB (Hons) from the Australian National University.
